The problem

Pitfalls to watch for
- Search results skew toward whatever content is best optimized for search, which doesn't reliably correlate with what's best for a given reading level or curriculum standard — domain and reading-level filtering both need deliberate curation, not defaults.
- Plagiarism and over-reliance concerns are specific to this vertical: a tool that hands students finished summaries rather than sources to synthesize themselves can undermine the actual learning goal, which is a product design question as much as a technical one.
- Student data privacy (COPPA and similar regulations for younger users) constrains what can be logged and how search history can be used, which is a stricter bar than most other verticals on this list.
