Influencer Discovery
Finding relevant creators and public engagement signals via search APIs.
The problem
Identifying the right creators for a brand partnership means going well beyond follower count — audience fit, content style, and engagement authenticity all matter — and most of that context sits scattered across a creator's cross-platform presence rather than in one platform's own discovery tools.
How the workflow is built
Topic and niche-specific queries surface creator profiles and content across platforms, often combined with `site:` filters to catch a creator's presence on platforms without generous native discovery tools, with follow-up queries checking for prior brand partnerships and audience sentiment before a creator is shortlisted.
Example queries
"[niche topic]" creator OR influencer site:youtube.com"[creator name]" brand partnership OR sponsorship historymicro-influencer "[niche]" [platform] engaged audience
Pitfalls to watch for
- Follower and engagement numbers surfaced through search are a point-in-time snapshot and can be significantly inflated by bot followers or engagement pods, so numbers alone shouldn't drive a partnership decision without a deeper audience-quality check.
- A creator's public platform presence is only part of the picture — search doesn't reveal audience demographics or true reach, which typically requires the platform's own analytics or a media kit the creator provides directly.
- Search coverage is uneven across platforms — some (YouTube, blogs) are well-indexed, others (TikTok, Instagram) far less so from general web search, meaning discovery built purely on search API results has a real platform bias baked in.
